SIPtrix IP pbx system
SIPtrix is a modular IP PBX with additional complimentary products and services. It can be provided in both fixed and mobile office scenarios and is based on the Asterisk platform.
Asterisk is an open source IP PBX application, enriched through global development and therefore high on the priority list of all associated hardware manufacturers when it comes to their product development. The benefit of open source, means there are no per user licensing costs, rich features as standard and flexibility with mediums (ie internet, ISDN, analogue, GSM) for the best least cost routing and back up.
From a small PC right up to an enterprise server
Its pre-requisite is that it runs on Linux based machines, from a small PC right up to an enterprise class of server. The limitation on the number of extensions and trunks is dependent on the processing power and memory of the host machine. The management portal has been tweaked with its features enriched, anglicised and added to the appropriate machine to create the SIPtrix system.
Wireless office capability
IP is not solely concerned with free calls between offices. It also means convergence with GSM/SIP phones such as Nokia E series devices. There is wireless office capability and remote configuration (especially in the mobile office environment) when set up in-conjunction with the likes of a 3G router and a fixed IP SIM.
Where can SIPtrix be used?
As a replacement system
SIPtrix has been sold in many situations as a simple, replacement phone system. As it is based on Asterisk, it means that there are no per user license costs and no additional charges for features. The user receives a feature rich system that is continually evolving and remains future proof.
The charge for SIPtrix itself is merely a configuration fee, yet the system includes features such as IVR
(Interactive Voice Response) and Voicemail that are often additional costs on other systems. The
configuration charge does not include associated hardware, such as servers, gateways, handsets etc.
- As an IP convergent system
SIPtrix has been converged with the latest GSM/SIP phones and email, linking branch offices and long-line
extensions. Convergence is about taking the latest in technology and making it work together, providing a
solution that is understandable, usable and is what a customer requires to simplify the way they work.Other offices within the business and home workers, can be linked across the internet to complete the networked phone system. The latest GSM/SIP phones and PDAs can become part of this. Figures vary, but between 30-40% of all calls made from mobiles are made from ones own office. Mobiles, as part of the phone system, allow the customer to enjoy the best least cost routing and can negate the need for desk phones for field based staff, cabling and the associated maintenance costs. On the road, the device is an everyday mobile and can be set up for push email, using Nokia Intellisync for example, with any Nokia E series device. This would provide a truly mobile convergent solution.
- As part of a mobile office
SIPtrix has been sucessfully installed in remote, temporary and mobile offices in-conjunction with 3G
routers and Fixed Cellular Terminals (FCTs) to form a complete mobile phone and data system.
Users have access to their email and the internet by connecting over the 3G router. Calls in and out will go via the FCTs. This system is ideal for construction sites or any other type of short term or remote office scenario.
