The main difference is the ability to run scripting languages. PHP on Linux, ASP and ASP.NET on Windows. Windows will also run PHP in 99% of cases. Plain html sites will run on both.

The 21c website has around 130 pages, some pdfs and a video for the new inbound product. Total space used around 35MB, well within the lowest limits. Most small websites can be accommodated on the basic package.

Bandwidth

Based upon the number of visitors to the site and their activity. If 500 people visit the site each month, all viewing 5 pages per visit, with each page 100kb in size (including images) the bandwidth would be approximately: 500 x 5 x 100kb = 250MB (0.25GB).

Dedicated SSL (Secure Socket Layer)

Encrypts transmission of data between the server and website visitor to keep the information secure. Usually used for credit card payments and sensitive data. https:// will appear before the website name and the lock symbol - Necessary for e-commerce sites.

Prices above based on a .co.uk domain. .coms cost extra to purchase.

Limits and other options

All of the above limits are flexible. There are a myriad of other options including databases (Access/MySql/MS Sql), stats etc. most of which can be included free of charge.
