Donate to charity by SMS

26th January 2010

Many people will want to donate to the Haiti earthquake appeals. This can now be done by SMS.

You can donate to the UK Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) by texting “Give” to 70077. This will donate £5 which will be taken from your mobile phone bill.

Orange customers can text “donate” to 864 233 in order to to send a £2.50 donation in aid of Unicef’s relief efforts.

International call rates revised

IT Department Expansion

We have expanded our IT capabilities with the appointment of a new staff member in the IT department, Stuart Butcher.

Stuart is CCNA certified and is currently finishing his final year part-time for a Computer Networks BSc qualification.

He has several years IT experience on a consultancy basis, together with a knowledge of telephone systems and related technology.

Convergence continues

Convergence is the watchword in the telecoms industry. As computers and mobiles continue to come closer together (especially with the release of SmartBooks - bridging the netbook/smartphone divide) so the device manufacturers and computer giants continue to try and take each other's business.

Google has now entered the market with its first handset (manufactured by HTC and promoting its Android Operating System) aimed squarely at consumers. It's next handset is rumoured to be aimed at business mobile users.

We are putting our IT team to good use and launching a website hosting package for new and existing customers.

A small monthly fee, which can be included on your current bill, will provide you with a domain name, hosting and email.
