Human Validation:
The Vodafone Sure Signal product remains the ONLY commercially available femtocell solution available in the UK. Now, with over 250,000 registered users using over 82,000 units (November 2010).

The Sure Signal provides 3G coverage indoors in network blackspots by utilising a fixed line broadband connection.

Reasons for coverage blackspots

There are several reasons why your network coverage could be poor. Your network strength depends on how close your home is to your network’s mobile phone masts. Being further away means you might get a weaker signal.

Your local environment can also be an issue. Other buildings, living in a basement or tower block, or being close to hills and valleys can all affect the strength of your mobile signal.

Finally some mobile phone handsets are not as efficient as others at picking up signals.

How does a Sure Signal work?

Without getting too technical, a Sure Signal is a femtocell - a low-power wireless access point that connects standard mobile devices to a mobile operator’s network using residential DSL or cable broadband connections.

Similar in size to a standard router the Sure Signal device plugs into fixed line broadband in a home or office creating a local 3G cloud of coverage.

Where mobile coverage within the home or office is difficult a Vodafone Sure Signal can provide full 3G coverage.

Sure Signal boxes can be used with most broadband lines, are quick and easy to install, and will boost indoor coverage where mobile coverage is patchy.

Mobile numbers to be linked to the Sure Signal can be registered online. Unregistered numbers will not be able to use the service.
