More and more business mobile users are accessing email and internet via their mobile phone handsets. This is classified as data usage by the networks.

A regular business mobile contract does not usually include data as standard (although there are some that do) and the charges per MB can be expensive.

So how much data allowance do you need?

Think about how often you are going to be accessing these data services and see which of these groups you fall into.

Data bolt-ons are inexpensive and for a few pounds you are likely to be getting around 500MB. This is more than enough for light users and for heavy users could be enough, although if you find you are exceeding this amount bolt-ons of 5GB are available.

For 500MB of data you could send and receive each day:

Obviously these figures are very approximate as the size of emails will vary and it may be that in your business all of your attachments and emails are exceptionally large, in which case you need to reduce these figures quoted.
